Vancouver Disc Centers Delivers Chiropractic Back Pain Relief
Back pain isn’t choosy. Back pain may choose any of us at any time whether we’re stay-at-home workers or out-in-the-world workers, active military people or veterans. Chiropractic’s reputation for helping back pain sufferers continues to grow in the civilian and veteran/military care systems. The more recent curiosity has been how much chiropractic care is best for back pain relief. Vancouver Disc Centers keeps track of this research since military/veteran back pain resembles our civilian Vancouver back pain!
BACK PAIN INCIDENCE
80% of us will get back pain at some time in our lives, in our youth, middle years, or elder age. 264 million work days were reportedly lost in one year because of back pain. (1) Vancouver chiropractic care is designed to help all ages! Somewhere between 25 and 33% of older folks in fact get low back pain annually. Low back pain for older adults is reported to be debilitating as it often limits their independence and increases their doctor visits. A study that merged primary care with chiropractic care for their back pain resulted in modest improvements in their disability and back pain and higher patient satisfaction and perceived improvement over just primary care. (2) Vancouver Disc Centers sees these same outcomes for our Vancouver back pain patients! Older patients with chronic low back pain who also have other medical issues who employed only chiropractic spinal manipulation for their back pain had lower overall costs of care, briefer episodes of back pain, and lower costs of care per back pain episode. (3) Back pain relief in a shorter time at less expense…a threefold bonus with Vancouver chiropractic care for back pain sufferers!
BACK PAIN CARE WITH CHIROPRACTIC
Like the rest of us, military personnel and veterans struggle with back pain and get relief with chiropractic treatment. Chiropractic is well-integrated into the VA system for veterans with low back pain and other musculoskeletal conditions. A recently proposed study of chiropractic care in Veterans Affairs healthcare facilities for low back pain sets out to see if low dose (1 to 5 visits) or higher dose (eight to twelve visits) chiropractic care for 10 weeks is optimal for chronic low back pain relief. (4) (The Cox® Technic System of Spinal Pain Management discovered in a study of 1000 back pain patients that 12 visits and 29 days were the mean number of visits and days to get patients maximally improved. (5)) A similar finding was made when chiropractic care was added to usual medical care for active-duty military personnel with low back pain. Moderate short-term improvement in back pain intensity and disability was documented. Multidisciplinary care of back pain that incorporates chiropractic is suggested to be beneficial. (6) The goal of Vancouver chiropractic for back pain sufferers – civilian and military alike – is back pain relief. Vancouver Disc Centers is prepared to deliver that!
