Chondroitin Sulfate Helps Vancouver Osteoporosis

The “osteo” conditions gain much attention at Vancouver Disc Centers and in the research labs. “Chondroitin sulfate” gets much attention for the benefit it has on osteoarthritis, so researchers are focusing attention to its use with the other “osteo”: osteoporosis. Chondroitin sulfate is a non-drug intervention demonstrating positive advantage in managing and making better osteoporosis which we know our Vancouver chiropractic patients with osteoporosis will appreciate. Gentle chiropractic care of osteoporosis can be relieving.

OSTEOPOROSIS

Osteoporosis is an age-related condition that affects millions of people and a skeleton-deteriorating condition triggered by a deficiency of calcium many times resulting in painful bone fractures and reduced mobility. Postmenopausal osteoporosis is the most common form of osteoporosis. A way to fight osteoporosis is by balancing calcium levels in the body; however, it can be hard to do alone. Luckily, chondroitin sulfate has emerged as a natural companion in this effort to help osteoporosis related to calcium deficiency.

CHONDROITIN SULFATE FOR OSTEOPOROSIS – A suitable addition.

Chondroitin sulfate’s ability to regulate lipid metabolism by reducing lipids into littler particles can allow its absorption by cells to be easier. This process allows cells to utilizes the lipids more efficiently, leading to stronger bones and muscles. Chondroitin sulfate also helps decrease inflammation and pain associated with osteoporosis which may help handle the effects of calcium deficiency-related osteoporosis. In a recent rat study, researchers tested chondroitin sulfate for osteoporosis and compared it to a calcium supplement, too. Chondroitin sulfate and chondroitin sulfate oligosaccharide more effectively repaired femur calcium, bone fracture deflection, and serum indices and improved cortical bone density, mechanical strength, and mineral content of bone. Their conclusions showed excitement for the potential of postponing the development of postmenopausal osteoporosis with daily consumption. (1) This is beneficial news for Vancouver osteoporosis patients to add to their calcium supplementation routine.

CALCIUM FOR OSTEOPOROSIS – What about a combo?

Osteoporosis sufferers are recommended calcium all the time. Many of us are calcium deficient. Both being non-drug interventions, calcium and chondroitin sulfate may enhance each other’s effects. Chondroitin sulfate, a natural compound existing in the human body, has been shown to be an effective solution for controlling osteoporosis triggered by a deficinency of calcium. Another study stated that the combined action of chondroitin sulfate and calcium eased osteoporosis via gut microbiota and metabolomics in low calcium rats. Chondroitin sulfate slowed down the inflammatory response, lowered short chain fatty acid synthesis in intestinal flora, halted osteoclast differentiation, promoted the absorption of calcium and antioxidant mechanism, and eased osteoporosis. (2) Now that is an effective osteoporosis nutrition combo!
